Dr. Pesek is an expert on transitional justice. She holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from the Central European University in Budapest, Hungary with her chief area of study and dissertation on Transitional Justice.
Dr. Pesek also served as a deputy project director for Freedom Houses field office in Serbia from 2001-2006 supporting local actors carrying out transitional justice-oriented programs and advocacy in former Yugoslavia.
She has organized conferences, published articles and taught a graduate course on transitional justice at Georgetown University. She is currently completing her manuscript on responsibility of citizens in post-conflict societies.
